Olivia is doing well... seems to still have her days and nights confused, despite trying to help her with that. She also appears to be having some issues with gassines and therefore a lot of night time fussiness when we try to put her down. She isn't a great burper ( I tried every burping positions out there) and she seems to need to be held for a bit after being fed in order to help her tummy digest a little better. Needless to say, I m not getting a much sleep around here. The no sleeping thing in a lot of ways, but making it hard to keep up with blogging, returning emails, phone calls, not to mention regular house hold works..
Please pray for Olivia...that we could somehow figure out a way to help her, that her tummy would be able to digest a bit more easily, that she would get her days and nights straight, and that her sleep would be more restful than fitful.
Please pray for me... I feel really helpless sometimes in figuring out whats wrong and how to help her Olivia better. The planner in me has a hard time with a non routine, and the art of nursing is hard as well.
Please pray for my hubby... that the sleep he gets would be restful. He has been so awsome about being up with Olivia and I, helping with feedings and lot of things..
Thanks for praying with us for figuring it all out.
Regards,
Mommy & Daddy

ReplyDeleteAnd CONGRATULATIONS on the birth of Olivia!!! What a little beauty.
Hang in there. It may seem like forever before tummies get better and you get more sleep, but it all changes. I promise. Just treasure this time. It will pass quickly.
I'm so happy for you!
Angel firstly congratulations, I am so glad that you been blessed with a little girl. Beautiful name also for beautiful girl. Thanks so much for letting me know.
ReplyDeleteAngel the first couple of months probably will be hardest. Every baby is different, and they grow. Just think, they have to adapt to everything, their organs are developing, may be they even feel the growing pain. The gas is normal as their stomachs are developing. One thing I used to do for Matthew was gently pump his legs towards the stomach and massage his feet. Don't force burping, you can perform the burping routine, but remember burping does not have to be that loud as our.
Sleeping, again every baby is different. And I can only tell you what I did. Because Matthew started to get fussy around 7 pm to 10 pm, we gave him bath every evening before bed (no soap, just water), and keep everything quite and darker around that time. However, because I was breastfeeding, he still liked to eat through out the night every 3 hours. Mind you he double in weight within 3 months, and I went under weight - I had really hungry baby I guess.
Angel, all you can do is feed the baby and love the baby. They are going through developing stage, and it isn't easy. The fight for survival.
You are doing great job, and congratulations to you and yours again. Anna :)
