Happy Due Date!!!

Dear Olivia,

Hi my cutie pie, it's your mommy. Today is your due date-April 16, 2010. I am so thrilled that we've already had you home. Daddy and I decided today that if we were still pregnant with you I'd be miserably psychotic:) Plus, it was mentally exhausting trying not to worry about you making it here. Needless to say, Daddy and I were pumped to greet you just after you turned 36 weeks.

Can mommy tell you just how much joy you have brought into my life? I am head over heels in love with you! You have been a fantastic baby and we are soaking up every minute with you. A couple nights ago, you even slept for 4 hours straight-scared Mommy to death when I realized how much time had passed, but you were still snug as a bug in a rug. You smile many times a day and it just makes us melt. I love seeing your sweet mouth when you yawn. It's such a big yawn for a little tiny girl.

One of my favorite things you do is play with your hands when I'm nursing you. It's so sweet! You exactly look like your Daddy thats the reason I call you Daddy's little girl.. also I definetely think you look your brother JJ as well. I know your fingers are like me-they are long and skinny. Daddy gave you nice and big eye lashes as well... You love your baths and getting coated in lotion afterward.

You rarely cry, eat great and sleep great! I think you're a very happy girl:-)

Thanks for being our amazing daughter. We pray over you every night. We pray that you would continue to be happy, healthy and grow to love our gracious and Almighty God who loves you so much.

Happy Baisakhi!!

Today is baisakhi festival.. This festival celebrates the season of spring.. This day is observed as the New Years Day for us.. today we named our daughter at Gurudwara..
I am overwhelmed with thankfulness this Baisakhi 2010. I'm so thankful God gave us our son JJ. He has blessed us and helped us grow by leaps and bounds in our faith. I'm so glad I got to carry him for an amazing 8 months, deliver him and snuggle him. I am also happy he is praising our God in Heaven! That is truly the best place for JJ, even if I don't want to admit it. He is greatly missed this Baisakhi festival specially when his baby sister is here..(well, everyday but you all know that!)
And of course, I am thankful for our sweet baby girl, Olivia (Manpreet) She has become the light of our lives and makes each day a true joy to live. I'm so thankful God has let us keep her.
She's 4 weeks and has such a fun personality. She is truly a 'happy baby.' Olivia rarely cries and lights up any room she enters. Just glance her way and she's all smiles.
Olivia, I'm so thankful for you baby girl. You bring Mommy, Daddy and all so much joy. I love to be with you. Even when you wake in the middle of the night-it's never hard to get up. I'm just so excited to be with you once again:) I love you more than I can explain. I don't think you'll understand just how much until you have your own babies. We are so thankful this Baisakhi for such an amazing baby like yourself!
I look forward to the days when I can tell you all about your big brother and the story both of you have in your short little lives. I love you
I'm also thankful for my hubby. Raj is the best husband. He strives to be a godly man on a daily basis. He is a hard worker and does a great job providing for our family. He's funny and fun to be around. His big bear hugs are my favorite! Raj loves his babies! He is such a great dad. Olivia lights up when she sees him or hears him. I'm not even sure how I ended up with such an all around good catch! Lucky me:) I love you Jaan and I'm very thankful for you..
I can't end this post without telling you what I'm most thankful for. I'm most thankful for God.. Without Him we are nothing.
Love always,
Preity

2 Weeks old...

Thanks so much for your thoughts and advice left on my previous posts..

In thinking through much of it further and in talking with Raj and family members, I am realizing that part of what seems to be compounding my struggle is feeling like I should already have a better idea of what's "normal" for a newborn... the sounds, the sleep patterns, the eating habits.

The whole being a "first time" mom to my second child has been wearing on me, perhaps, more than I realized.

So my goal, for now, is to really just try to relax a little and to not worry so much.

In that note, our beautiful Olivia is 2 weeks old today! Just caught a few shots of my sleeping beauty
